I’m so excited to finally be able to share this video with you!
This is a promo video I made for my upcoming Kickstarter campaign for issue #2, and before I put it up on Facebook, Instagram, and all my other socials, I wanted to share to with my subscribers first!
This has been a long time coming. To be frank, I’ve been working on this for so long now, that it feels quite strange to finally be finished! As you might guess, the part that took the longest was the animation at the beginning. It turns out that animating a cylinder (his head) turning is a LOT more difficult and unforgiving than I expected! I did a few passes on it, trying to get it to look right. I even got my wife, who also works in animation, to help me out with the final line pass (which used to be called “clean up” animation), so it took even longer since we were then trying to fit this in around both of our work schedules. The kicker of it all was that I had originally planned a longer, more complicated piece of animation, with multiple shots! That plan was abandoned once it became clear how long it would take. One shot is fine!
With this major piece of the campaign prep completed, there’s not much left to do now, so I’ll soon announce the launch date!
One of the final things I need to do before I launch is organize some comic-focused podcast and YouTube show appearances, so if you’re reading this and know of a show that you think I should reach out to, please let me know!
