How To Do Two Conventions At The Same Time!
How can one humble, independent comic book creator exhibit at two comic conventions at the exact same time? Read on, friends...
Hi there!
This weekend I’m going to be tabling at my first two-day comic convention! It will also be the biggest con I will have tabled at, to date, in terms of attendance - Comic-Con Revolution in Ontario, California!
Comic-Con Revolution as been going for a few years now, but it’s relatively new compared to other conventions in the area. I remember really liking the first couple of times I went as an attendee. This will certainly be a good test of how much stock to bring with me for a convention of this size! I’m basing the number on how many I’ve sold at each convention I’ve done so far, but neither of them was as big as this one will be, nor were they multi-day affairs. So there will still be some guesswork involved. I’m hoping I don’t have to do an overnight drive back home (about an hour from the convention) to pick up more books on Saturday night, since I’ve booked a hotel down the street from the convention center for the express purpose of not having to drive home and return the next morning!
As if one convention across two days wasn’t enough, I am also going to have a “virtual booth” at the Comic Art Live online convention on the same weekend!
(Yes, it’s the same picture. I made both of these graphics at the same time. Why not?)
Comic Art Live is run by the website comicartfans.com. So, what is it, exactly? Here’s the answer from the Comic Art Fans website:
Comic Art Live began as a concept to help original Comic Art Reps market their Artists’ work better when we could see that the COVID-19 pandemic was going to cause trouble for our hobby. While developing the programming we realized that we could best assist the entire original comic art community by organizing a virtual comic art convention, featuring Comic Art Dealers & Collectors with art for sale, Artists, and Vendors related to our hobby. Comic Art Live will include interactive Q&A Panels with Artists and Collectors to make the event even more LIVE.
For the second year in a row, comic creators who exhibited at Indie Comics Creator Con (which I wrote about in the post below) have been invited to set up a virtual booth to sell their comics, original art and art commissions online! So I’m diving in and doing TWO conventions at the same time!
My Comic Art Live booth will have issues of Steamroller Man #1 (the main cover version) for sale, and I am also offering sketch cover commissions during the event! My prices are as follows:

So if you’re in Southern California this weekend and can make it to Comic-Con Revolution Ontario, please stop by Artists’ Alley and find me at table G11! I’d love to see you! If you can’t make it to that show, you can still order a comic or a commission from me by clicking the button below (the link will be live starting on Saturday)!
That’s it for this update! ROLLING two conventions deep, I remain
